White mountain ringed.
Down down to Carson Valley
Sun inchoate, unrisen.
Dawn light gentle
On Washoe Lake, tan fields, horse flanks.
Winding up up through Jeffrey snow pines
To Alpine Tahoe blue.
Newborn sun trumpets,
"Day! Day! Day!"
